FIVB potvrzuje, že turnaj v Xiamenu bude Grand Slam!

Following our communication on 24th September, we are pleased to officially confirm that the FIVB Beach Volleyball event in Xiamen, China has been upgraded to a Grand Slam and will be held from 22-27 October 2013 with the following schedule:

Monday, 21st October
Arrival of participating Men Qualification Teams

Tuesday, 22nd October
Arrival of participating Women Qualification Teams
Qualification Tournament  - Men
Arrival of participating Men Main Draw Teams

Wednesday, 23rd October
Qualification Tournament  - Women
Main Draw – Men
Arrival of participating Women Main Draw Teams

Thursday, 24th October – Saturday, 26th October
Main Draw – Men
Main Draw – Women

Sunday, 27th October
Main Draw – Women

We are also happy to let you know that exceptionally FIVB with the help of the Organizer are able to extend the Qualification Tournament to 32 teams per gender.

Please be reminded that the Entry deadline for the above tournament is set for Tuesday, 1st October at 6PM (Swiss time). A detailed match schedule shall be updated on the FIVB website in the next days.

In fact, the FIVB has agreed with the promoter and CVA to maintain the same number of participants allowed to enter in the qualification of the initially planned women’s Open and to stay with the same figure for the added men’s qualification tournament.

On this occasion, we would like to thank the promoter and CVA for having accepted the upgrade of their event to a Grand Slam and also for having accepted 32 teams in  the qualification tournament for both genders’ competitions.

Regarding visa issues, please contact urgently China Volleyball Association and Ms. Yikun YANG to receive the necessary visa invitations.
